Enel Russia and Rostov region develop cooperation in the sphere of wind energy

Sochi, February 15, 2018 – At the Russian Investment Forum held in Sochi the Governor of Rostov region Vasily Golubev and the General Director of PJSC "Enel Russia" Carlo Palasciano Villamagna signed an agreement on wind park construction in the region.

Enel Russia’s wind park with an installed capacity of 90 MW will be allocated on the coast of the Azov sea, on the territory of the form gaming area “Azov city”.

Enel Russia’s project on the wind park construction in the Azov region (Azovskaya VES) has been already included in the list of priority investment projects of Rostov region, so called “the governor’s hundred projects”. The investments declared by the company in the contract amount to 132 mln euro.

Siemens Gamesa will be in charge of equipment localisation for the future Enel Russia’ wind park. The new wind park will be commissioned in 2020.

Background:

“Azovskaya VES”, being founded as a subsidiary of a German holding SOWITEC, now is owned by Enel Russia, Enel Group’s affiliate. PJSC Enel Russia operates the following power plants: Konakovskaya GRES, Nevinnomysskaya GRES, Sredneuralskaya GRES and Reftinskaya GRES. The company’s total gross installed electrical capacity is 9,428.7 MW (equivalent to 8,878.4 MW net installed capacity) and thermal capacity is 2.382 Gcal/h. In June 2017 PJSC “Enel Russia” has been awarded two wind projects, 201 MW and 90 MW respectively, within the framework of the Russian government tender for the construction of wind capacity in the country.
