Hologroup is testing new innovative holographic solution at Enel Russia’s Nevinnomysskaya power plant

PJSC Enel Russia and HoloGroup are testing a new holographic technology, which will help to prepare high voltage (HV) transmission line 330 KW-01 Nevinnomysskaya GRES - Armavir for maintenance works.

Open switchyard - is a complex system, which ensures power supply to customers. Before maintenance works at overhead high voltage transmission lines, Enel technicians perform preparatory activities to avoid system failures and ensure uninterrupted power supply.

Power plant operators, equipped by Microsoft HoloLens augmented reality glasses will perform training session with holographic instruction on switching HV line. Holographic instruction will ensure correct work of the operator with the help of audio and visual tips.

“Augmented reality in energy sector - is a new breakthrough solution, which will reduce error rate in dealing with high risk equipment. We are glad to be a part of such an ambitious project. This joint pilot project is a bright example of startup and corporation efficient work in implementation of innovation technologies in industry day by day activities”

– Alexandr Yakubov, a founder of HoloGroup start up

As part of its innovation strategy, Enel is scouting for high potential startups to develop together new business models and innovative solutions. Enel acts as an industrial partner for startups, providing its knowledge, expertise, laboratories and people to give the companies a chance to develop their solutions with the Group, that will also act as a final customer once the technologies are fully validated. In order to have a strong presence in the ecosystems where innovation run faster, Enel just opened the Moscow Innovation Hub to connect the Group’s different divisions to the best international startups.

Pilot project on research of holographic instructions for power plant operators is launched as a part of the partnership between PJSC Enel Russia and Internet Initiatives Development Fund (IIDF). In 2016 Enel Russia became a partner of the Fund. Enel Russia Experts took part in selection and assessment phases of the projects, acted as consultants for startup teams. HoloGroup is a portfolio company of the Fund, which went through the selection phase and became a partner of PJSC Enel Russia.
