Stack No. 3 at Nevinnomysskaya GRES was completely dismantled

At the end of 2023, a large-scale project to dismantle stack No. 3 began at Nevinnomysskaya GRES PJSC EL5-Energo. The 120-meter high stack was first put into operation 60 years ago in 1964. Since September 1991, the stack has not been used in production, it was decommissioned and mothballed.

To dismantle the object from the +121.5 m mark to the 0.00 m mark, a special technology of reinforced concrete structure element-by-element cutting was applied. Dismantling was carried out by industrial climbing method using a ten-ton tower crane with additional clips for height increase. The elements of the structure were segmented using diamond cutting technology and processed into crushed stone. The volume of dismantled reinforced concrete totaled 904 m3.

To avoid health, safety, industrial and fire safety injuries, an additional support team was formed during the dismantling works.

Nevinnomysskaya GRES PJSC EL5-Energo is a thermal power plant with installed electric capacity of 1551.4 MW, thermal capacity - 585 Gcal/h.
